Mason is a Los Angeles-based oil painter, film director, cinematographer, and editor whose work bridges two disciplines with a shared core: light, story, and emotional truth.

Before picking up a brush, Mason built a career behind the camera—directing and shooting music videos, dance films, and branded content for major clients across the LA creative scene. That work continues today, and deeply informs his painting practice.

His journey into fine art began when he enrolled at an ARC-approved atelier, drawn to the timeless techniques of the old masters. There, he quickly advanced to a professional level, finding that his filmmaker’s instincts—composition, atmosphere, drama—translated naturally to the canvas. In return, painting sharpened his cinematic eye, deepened his sense of pacing, and grounded his visual storytelling.

Today, Mason works fluidly across both mediums. He directs with a painter’s sensitivity, and paints with a cinematographer’s precision. Each informs the other. Whether it’s a portrait in oil or a dance sequence on screen, his goal remains the same: to craft images that are honest, luminous, and built to last.
